5th Grade “Conservation Day” Field Trip
Students from Carey Elementary School participated in all day conservation workshop at the Hayspur Fish Hatchery. We were treated to demonstrations on Falconry (USFS), Salmon Life Cycles and Food Webs info (ERC) as well as Beaver demonstrations and habitat discussion. (Idaho Fish and Game.) The Blaine Co. Extension Office introduced a water gage craft and discussion about our precious water. Thanks again to all who helped!

Envirothon 2007
This year the Blaine Soil Conservation District sponsored 2 High School teams to compete in the 2007 Envirothon held in Challis, Idaho on May 15th and 16th. The teams attend educational workshops and test on their understanding. The competition includes a demonstration prepared at camp.
We would like to invite other teams to join us next year!

Announcing: Our Annual Landscaping Workshop!
For those of you who are anxious to get out doors and enjoy beautiful gardens, we would like to invite you to attend. There will be short presentations on soil, annual, and perennial planting, wet land special needs and weeds. There is no charge to attend. Please bring a friend! The work shops will be held in 2 locations. Dates and times will be posted for 2008.
